YMCA partnership helps build strong minds and bodies

March 7th, 2018

Now you can strengthen your body as well as your mind at your local library, thanks to a new partnership between Casey Cardinia Libraries and the YMCA.

The YMCA is well known in the community as a provider of fitness and recreational opportunities. In the Casey area they operate facilities including Casey RACE, Casey ARC, Casey Stadium, and the Berwick and Endeavour Hills Leisure Centres. From March, YMCA staff will also be delivering Meditation, Yoga and Nutrition workshops at a number of local library branches, further expanding the lifestyle and wellbeing program offered by CCL.

CCL Chief Executive Officer, Chris Buckingham said: “Throughout the year we offer a diverse program of free events for our members and we are thrilled to be able to work with the YMCA to expand the lifestyle and wellness workshops on offer. “There is a clear link between having a healthy body and a healthy mind. Casey Cardina Libraries love being able to work with the YMCA to encourage people to live better. “By working together, we make it easier for our community to embrace health living.”

YMCA Victoria manager, Barry Harrison said: “Together the YMCA and Casey Cardinia Libraries can achieve tremendous results through combining the mind and the body for the overall health of each person.”
