Home > All Casey Cardinia Libraries Closed: From Thursday 19 March 2020
Casey Cardinia Libraries provide a vital community service, but our priority is the safety of people in our libraries.
After careful consideration of the risks presented by the COVID-19 virus, we have decided to close all Casey Cardinia Libraries to the public from (and inclusive of) Thursday 19 March 2020, until further notice.
This also means all library programs, events and outreach and programs will also remain suspended.
At this stage there are no reported or suspected cases of COVID – 19 amongst library staff. We understand that exercising caution is the best course of action.
Chris Buckingham, CEO Casey Cardinia Libraries said: ‘Libraries are places that celebrate kindness and generosity. It was not an easy decision to close our branch network, but the welfare of people in our community is our first priority.’
We are working on ways that we can help people can still access our services, from close of business Wednesday 25 March 2020:
We are working on innovative ways to support you (our wonderful community) over the coming weeks and months – we will keep you in the loop as things progress.
