What is a Storybook Trail?
Storybook Trails are an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.  Storyboards are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story.

The Pakenham Lakeside Storybook Trail runs from the Lakeside Amphitheatre, Lakeside Boulevard to the play equipment at Dragon Park. The trail incorporates 14 storyboards. Our stories are changed monthly and are chosen to support a key event, theme or celebration. With the occasional classic title added in which is sure to delight!

To get the most out of your Storybook Trail experience and help your child develop their literacy skills we encourage you to take time at each page, ask questions about the pictures and words and relate the questions to the world around you.
